Congressman Asking for Details on HHS Employees Making over $100,00 a Year
Congressman Joe Barton (R-TX) has asked several agencies for details on all HHS employees making over $100,000 a year.
2011 Budget Provisions Affecting Federal Physicians
2011 pay increase
Civilian federal employees and the military would get a 1.4 percent pay increase next year, according to President Obama's fiscal 2011 budget proposal. The proposed military pay bump is the smallest bump since 1973.
Larger surveys samples on job satisfaction and well-being
The budget proposes conducting the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (formally known as the Federal Human Capital Survey) annually instead of every two years and will increase the number of employees who receive the questionnaire. In addition, the budget proposes measuring the health of enrollees in the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program to assess the programs effectiveness.
Eliminating Locality Pay surveys
The President’s 2011 Budget proposes ending the locality pay surveys that cover 31 separate areas and proposes a new method for measuring compensation.

Based on 952 surveys, there appears to be major differences in the special pay of physicians.
